Dear Anglers,

This last weekend at Lake El Capitan we held our 2nd US Anglers Choice San Diego Pro Team Series Event for the 2012 season. We had 21 teams on hand at this event to fish for some great prizes. We had sunny weather all day with temperatures in the high 70’s with wind blowing northeast. We had a total of 84 bass weighted and 84 bass released.

The 2nd USAC Champion at the EL Capitan goes to Trevor Lincoln and Stewart Lee with a five bass limit of 22.43lbs with 1st big bass of the tournament of 5.14lbs. The team took home a nice payday of $ 2,080.00 for their days effort, plus a ABU Garcia Rod for the big bass of the tournament worth $ 200.00. The team caught their big fish throwing a Trip-Jig, which is similar to an Alabama Style lure.

Second place went to Marco Fenelli and Jim Hallauer with a five bass limit that weighed 16.99lbs with the second big bass of 4.92lb. The team took home $810.00 in cash for their day effort. Fenelli and Halluaer used Carolina rig, under spins, Alabama Rig and worms in order to bring in their nice limit

Third place went to Dennis Kolender and Bob Palashewski with a five bass limit that weighed 15.62lbs. Bob and Dennis had a nice sack of finish with no big bass. The team took home $465.00 in cash for their day effort. The team caught their fish in the back of the lake using Carolina rig and spinner baits.

We would like to thank Barbeque Pit for the Home Made Style BBQ after the tournament, as I am sure we had many hungry fishermen that enjoy the catered food. Anglers Choice San Diego will continue to have catered BBQ after each events so please come and fish a professional circuit with great food and prizes. We would like to personally Chris Marso from Berkley Fishing Products for the fishing rod that was given away for the big bass and the tackle that was given away at the raffle. Additionally, We would like to thank our new sponsors Fish’n-Marine Center of Kelly Salmans and Andy Paluczak for the trophy donation and the their support of the new series. Also, we would like to thank Diane at Lakeside Bait and Tackle for their fishing product donation for the raffle and her continue support of the series. Lastly, We would like to give a special thanks to Paul leader and John Blake of El Cajon Ford for the BBQ donation that we will have at the end of each our events. El Cajon Ford has been a dedicated team tournament sponsor and we truly appreciate their support. If you would like to be sponsor at the upcoming events please give Jim Sleight a call as we are looking for more participation.

We would like to thank the City Lakes for opening the gates at 5:00am so we could have our sign-ups and the draw. Lastly, I would like to thank my staff of Woody Olson, Larry Bottroff, Regina Seaberg, Ron Overman and Scott Ashley for their continued assistances in these events. I can never express my thanks enough to the people that help me make these events happen and run smoothly.

You can view the results, standings and images for each event at the following websites:

The San Diego Team Series (www.sdteamseries.com) is my personal website for all the tournaments that Jim Sleight directs. SD Team Series will offer a Message forum for the fishing community in order to express their commits or requests, so please sign-up today and post a topic for discussions. The forum is easy to use and should be a fun way for fishing community to interact within their own circuit. We will be posting in the forum after each event so look for update on the site. The next tournament will be April 28, 2012 at Lake El Capitan. We hope to get the word out about the next event in order to boost the team participation and get this series into the tournament mix amongst the San Diego anglers.
